We live in a new age of computing, driven by faster distributed computation and data-driven algorithms. We are heading towards a surprising utopian computing world where we can solve many difficult problems quickly in practice while all our cryptographic protocols remain secure, and where we can make significant progress in learning in nearly every domain.
Leonid Levin, in his seminal paper, developed the framework to understand hard problems from both the computational and information complexity perspective. This talk will explore how we can rethink these perspectives in the light of our current computational transformation.
